Financing your training
With the exception of the pilot program, our tuition is approximately equivalent to that of a semester of college. Your Admissions Representative will discuss these costs with you during your interview. To help make your education affordable The Airline Academy offers a variety of payment options.
In-House Financing
All students of The Airline Academy are automatically eligible for in-house financing, regardless of income or credit history. This option allows the student to make a down payment on the tuition and to make monthly payments directly to the Academy on the balance for up to two years or until they embark on the full time portion of their course of study. Students can choose from an assortment of plans based on their down payment amount and duration of repayment. All plans have a predetermined fixed interest rate of 9%. Payments can be made in the form of check, money order, or credit card.
SLM Financial *Career Education Loan
SLM is the career education division of SallieMae. This option enables qualified students to borrow funds to cover not only their tuition but also housing, transportation, food, and living expenses. Applicants can request a repayment term of up to 15 years, thereby lowering the amount of the monthly payment. This loan also comes with deferment and interest only options. Approval for this loan is based on income, debt-to-income ratio, and credit history. Interest rates vary from applicant to applicant.
*This is not a government subsidized student loan.
Hope Scholarship Tax Credit
In many cases, graduates of The Airline Academy are eligible for the Hope Scholarship Tax Credit. This can manifest itself in a deduction of up to $1,500.00 directly off your tax bill. When the time comes, your tax preparer can advise you of your qualification.
Scholarships and Grants
Due to the nature and duration of our programs, The Airline Academy does not accept federal government funding, including but not limited to, Pell Grants and Stafford Loans. However, many students have been approved for scholarships through local civic organizations or through state agencies. We are happy to accept any outside funding of this sort and will work with the fund providers to meet any necessary approval requirements on our part.
