Are you are interested in becoming an airline flight attendant, but are not sure if you meet the minimum requirements? Read on to find out if you qualify!


  • At least 18 years old (depending on the airline)
  • At least 20/30 vision with glasses or contact lenses
  • Full use of all five senses
  • Good general health and physically fit
  • Height-weight proportionate
  • Most common height requirement is at least 4ft 11in
  • No facial piercings or gauges – 1 earlobe piercing per ear
  • No visible tattoos
  • Well groomed with suitable hygiene


  • No felony convictions, driving under the influence (DUI) convictions within the last 10 years. You must pass a federal background check as well
  • Citizen or legal resident of the U.S.
  • Identification: government-issued photo ID, a social security card or a valid passport


  • Customer service experience preferred – in some cases it’s mandatory
  • Must have the ability to speak, read, write and be understood in English
  • High school diploma or GED
