General Questions
Safety is every flight attendant’s top priority. At The Airline Academy, you’ll master essential safety procedures while also developing exceptional.
How does the program work?
Training happens in two phases. Phase I is distance learning you complete at your own pace, covering airline fundamentals and terminology. Phase II is 5-days of hands-on training in Orlando, where you’ll cover emergency procedures, safety equipment, service training, interview preparation and actual hiring interviews.
Do I have to travel to Orlando?
Yes, for Phase II. The resident training takes place in person at JetBlue University, since several skills, like emergency evacuation training and equipment use, need to be practiced hands-on.
What happens during the resident week?
You’ll work through aircraft systems, emergency and evacuation training, CPR and AED basics, service training, grooming, and more. It’s intensive, but it’s the part of the program that gets you ready for real airline interviews.
What if none of the listed class dates work for me?
Call The Airline Academy at 800-798-0202. We schedule resident classes throughout the year, and we can help you find one that fits your timeline.
Is housing provided during the resident week?
Yes! Hotel accommodations are included during the resident training week.
What should I bring to the resident class?
The Airline Academy will send a full checklist once you’re enrolled.
What does the training curriculum actually cover?
Everything from safety and security procedures to customer service and communication skills, with hands-on practice built in so you’re ready for real situations in the air, not just the classroom.
Will my instructors have real industry experience?
Our instructors bring years of real experience in aviation and guide you through every step of training, no matter how much or how little experience you’re starting with.
I don't have any prior experience. Can I still succeed in this program?
Most students come in with zero airline experience, and that’s exactly who this program is built for. Our instructors build your training around that, so by the end of the resident week you have the skills and confidence to walk into interviews ready.
