General Questions

Safety is every flight attendant’s top priority. At The Airline Academy, you’ll master essential safety procedures while also developing exceptional.

Attending our school is not a requirement. If you are serious about working for an airline, attending The Airline Academy is a great way to dramatically increase your chances of getting hired. Airlines receive thousands of applications. Of the received airline applications, only 5% are granted interviews and only 5% of those 5% are offered positions, contingent upon the successful completion of the airlines’ in-house training. Airline recruiters are eager to hire our graduates because they are a sound investment and have been doing so since 1994.

The FAA requires the airlines to train their employees on their own equipment. Keep in mind that 25-33% of those who enter an airlines’ in-house training with no prior experience will fail out and lose their jobs. This is a great waste of time and money for both the employee and the airlines.  Airline Academy graduates have a 99% in-house training success rate.

There is no school that can guarantee a job after graduation. The Airline Academy has an 86% confirmed placement rate. We provide lifetime placement assistance for all our graduates. Airline recruiters attend each class giving you the opportunity to interview with over half of the class offered a position before graduation.

All airlines hire at the age of 18 for Customer Service Agents. Some airlines start hiring at the age of 19 for a flight attendant position – Once you turn 20-21 you will have more options available as to what airline you can apply with. There is no maximum age requirement to work for an airline.

Yes, a high school diploma or GED is required prior to attending the resident portion of training.
Airlines will conduct a 10-year federal background check. If you have a felony on your record (even if it’s older than 10 years) you will not be eligible for employment. These charges will need to be expunged before applying for enrollment. If you have been on probation or convicted of a Misdemeanor, DUI, or DWI within the last 10 years, you will not be eligible to apply with an airline unless you show proof that you have received a letter of approval from Canada. You may apply for a Deemed Rehabilitation (Canadian Waiver) 5 years after you have completed your sentence or probation. Visit this website for more information on applying.
Height requirements vary with each airline. Most airlines have a minimum height requirement of 5’0 and a maximum of 6’0. If you are any shorter or taller you will be limited to what airlines you can apply with.
