When you first walk into flight attendant training at your college, you are probably so excited and nervous all at once. You’ve begun what you know will be the most rewarding experience of your life, but have very little knowledge about what to expect. Whether you are just starting flight attendant training or are finishing up, you probably have many questions.

To help prepare for flight attendant training, there are a few things you should do before you even start – both to help with flight attendant training and the flight itself.

Understand the Requirements of Training and the Airline

Make sure that flight attendant training is right for you. Many flight attendant schools have different requirements on what flight attendant training entails, so it’s important to do your research.

Investigate the Airline

Investigate what flight attendant training entails at different airlines. The training may be different at each airline and flight attendant school, so doing your research will help.

Seek Out a Mentor

If you don’t have a flight attendant mentor, look for one. It can be very helpful to talk with a flight attendant who has been in the industry for a while, to get advice on flight attendant training and flight itself.

Pack Your Bags Strategically

Before you even begin flight attendant training, it’s important to pack strategically. Make sure you have everything you need for flight attendant school and flight so that you don’t have any unnecessary added stress.

Get a Good Night’s Rest Before You Start

Before flight attendant training starts, it’s important to get plenty of rest. You will be sleep-deprived during flight attendant training, so begin getting adjusted beforehand.
